WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — A woman was killed in a house fire in Winter Haven early Wednesday morning, according to the Polk County Fire Department.

Officials said the fire started in the bedroom of a 53-year-old Ingrid Ramos at the family home on Timberline Road in Winter Haven around midnight.

Inside the home were nine people; Ramos and a mother and her seven children between the ages of three and 13.

Officials said the mother and seven children were able to escape. Polk Co Fire tells ABC Action News that one of the children did go to the hospital with chest pains, but was released after a short period of time. 

Ramos, who is said to be a friend of the mother, died in the fire. 

The cause of the fire was accidental; however, the cause for the fire has not yet been determined, according to the Polk County Fire Department.

The investigation remains ongoing, and an autopsy will be conducted by the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death.
