An entire Bay Area city got a free makeover on Thursday as part of its annual Scrubbin' da Burg program.
The program inspires teens across the area to help clean up locations across St. Petersburg.
In all, 26 different areas across the city benefited from the organized day of community service.
The goal is to for youth to help keep their neighborhoods clean by letting them take part in the work.
Most of the kids who helped were part of summer recreation programs.
A group of two dozen girls helped repaint part of the fencing outside Campbell Park in South St. Pete.
Officers with the St. Petersburg Police Department took part in the day of community service to help teens develop positive interactions with them.
The clean ups included painting, removing brush, dusting, cleaning and outdoor landscaping.
