Worker falls 25 feet from lift while working at apartment complex in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A worker was flown as a trauma alert to a local hospital Friday morning after falling 25 feet from a lift, according to the Clearwater Police Department.

Officers said the work-related accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. at Clear Bay Terrace Apartments.

63-year-old James Bailey, of New Port Richey, was on a lift when he fell 25 feet, according to Clearwater PD. At this time, it is unknown what caused him to fall. He was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert , where he remains in critical condition.

OSHA representatives are conducting an investigation of the incident.
