TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. — One woman is dead after an officer-involved shooting Friday morning.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department said they responded to the 400 block of Riverside Drive after receiving a call for service shortly after 10:00 a.m.

Upon arrival, two officers approached a woman who had a knife and aggressively charged at them.

Officers attempted to use their stun gun on the woman to stop her, but it did not work and she continued to charge at the officers with the knife.

As the officers were backing away from the woman, one of them fell to the ground and she then charged at him. The officer then shot at the woman in self defense. Dash cam video shows the incident unfold.
