Adult volunteers needed for F/IFAS Extension Pinellas County 4-H SPARK Academy.
Here is the information on the program:
F/IFAS Extension Pinellas County 4-H is looking for adult volunteers 18-years and older to register for SPARK Academy.
The free training program certifies participants to become 4-H project leaders and curriculum facilitators. This is an exciting opportunity for volunteers with an interest in teaching young people and making a difference in the community.
The six-week program, beginning in May, will include subjects on urban agriculture and gardening, financial management, science and leadership. Upon completion, volunteers will be able to share knowledge with school-aged children at schools and clubs in the community. The series of two-hour classes will be held on the following dates:
May
Thursday, May 18 (first meeting/training session)
Thursday, May 25
June
Thursday, June 1
Thursday, June 8
Thursday, June 15
Thursday, June 29
To register for the first meeting, visit www.eventbrite.com and search "4-H Volunteer Spark Academy." Florida 4-H relies on dedicated volunteers to help promote the mission of providing young people with knowledge and life skills. Volunteers who finish the course will be required to commit a certain amount of time annually to retain their certification.
