East Lake Fire Rescue crews, Squad 57 and Engine 56, responded to a vehicle vs. a tree accident on Wednesday afternoon.
Crews found a vehicle with heavy front end damage off Ridgemoor Blvd upon arriving and two injured occupants inside.
The passenger was removed and taken to a the Bayonet Point Trauma Center within 12 minutes of the crews arrival.
The driver had to be removed from the vehicle using extrication equipment, and was also transported to the trauma center.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
