Two St. Petersburg unlicensed adult care homes shut down for deplorable conditions

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Two unlicensed adult care homes in St. Petersburg have been shut down after deplorable conditions were discovered.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said they shut down two unlicensed adult care homes after they discovered they had no running water, no power and broken windows. Officers said they also found drug paraphernalia.

The two facilities, located at 3434 2nd Ave S. and 3418 2nd Ave S., are both run by Tampa Bay Behavioral Health.

Officers said nine disabled adults have been displaced. A number of agencies are at the scene to help find new homes for the residents.

No charges are pending at this time.
