Strong winds from a thunderstorm knocked down several trees throughout the Tampa Bay area, including one that fell onto a home in Largo.
Kathy Peterson was walking to her bathroom, when the tree snapped and slammed onto her home. There were two other people in the home with her and a dog. None of them were hurt. She said the house, which is located on Silver Oak Circle, shook.
"If I had gone 3 steps (farther), I would have been under the tree," Peterson said.
Peterson said she stood frozen in the doorway of the bathroom.
"I just stood there and I screamed 'oh my God there's a tree'," Peterson said.
Peterson called 911. She said several engines arrived to help. Peterson said she is thankful everyone is okay.
"We're blessed," Peterson said.
