ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The St. Pete Police Department's brand new headquarters opens Friday at 11 a.m. and on Wednesday, department officials and construction workers buried a time capsule in a special reflection area on site.

They buried the time capsule so that in 100 years, the future St. Petersburg Police Department will have the chance to take a look at some of the items they currently use to keep St. Petersburg safe. They put things like patches, maps, challenge coins, clothing and more inside of the capsule.
