Teen in critical condition after 22-year-old man accidentally shoots him in St. Pete, police say

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A teenager is fighting for life at the hospital after being shot by an acquaintance on accident, according to police in St. Petersburg.

The St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of 23rd Street South. Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound.

The teen is in critical condition at the hospital, police said.

The person who accidentally shot him is in custody.
