Pinellas County investigators are trying to track down three men responsible for as many as three burglaries and stealing an SUV.
According to the sheriff's office, two homes in the College Hill neighborhood in Clearwater and a house in Safety Harbor were hit this week.
Homeowner Lloyd Davidson's daughter was visiting from Chicago and woke up to the sound of breaking glass around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. According to detectives, she screamed and sacred the intruders away.
“You feel violated when someone is in your house, especially because my daughter was home alone," said Davidson. "If I was here, I wouldn’t feel so bad."
Davidson's neighbor reported seeing three men between 16 and 25 years old getting away in a green Toyota Rav 4 with Florida tags L49-OEG. The vehicle was reported stolen last week.
Police say the three are behind a burglary in the 6500 block of Harbor Oaks Circle Wednesday morning. The three suspects forced their way into the home through the rear sliding door and ransacked the master bedroom. According to detectives, items stolen include ladies jewelry and men's watches valued at $2,200.
The burglary was captured on the victim's living room surveillance video.
ABC Action News has learned that the young couple who lives there recently moved in.
“Ironically, he asked me how safe the neighborhood was, and I told him it’s been really safe here, and this to happen a couple weeks later..." said neighborhood watch chairman Matt Sunski. "I feel guilty about that.”
