ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg's Brocante Vintage Market has announced that they will be closing in December 2019.
The couple who own the market, Sean and Celesta Carter announced the closure on Facebook and say the decision has been in the works for sometime.
"We have always felt invested in St. Pete and have done what we can from a personal and business standpoint to contribute to the growth and development of the area," Sean said in a press release. "Downtown is thriving, and we will continue to support that. This is truly the end of an era for us. It is never an easy decision to close a thriving business, but we look forward to focusing on some of our other interests and taking a step back to enjoy life."
The couple have juggled their two full-time careers and a small real estate investment company along with the market, and cite that as a reason for closing.
The market has been open for 6 years, according to their Facebook post.
"It has been a wild ride and while we get to spend one weekend each month with you, it takes a month-long effort (and a village of amazing Brocanteurs) to make our market happen each month," their Facebook post read. "The time has come for us to take a step back to focus on our lives, our family, and other passions that bring us joy."
The market will continue to operate normally until its closure.
