Missing St. Petersburg man and grandbaby return home safe, police say

UPDATE - 7:30 a.m. Saturday | A 7-month-old baby and his 59-year-old grandfather are safe back home, St. Petersburg police said.

Baby Sevyn Griffin and his grandpa, Alvin Burden Jr., showed up early Saturday, hours they were last seen dropping off Burden's wife on 5th Street South in St. Petersburg.

The incident has been resolved, St. Petersburg police spokeswoman Sandra Bentil said.

No details have been released about their whereabouts during the time they were missing.

ORIGINAL STORY | Police in St. Petersburg are asking for the public's help in locating a missing baby and his grandfather Friday night.

According to St. Pete police, Sevyn Griffin, the baby, and Alvin Burden Jr., his grandfather, were last seen Friday morning dropping off the 7-month-old's grandmother in the 2400 block of 5th Street South.

They were riding in a dark blue 2010 Chevrolet Travers with a Florida tag BSEF56.

The two have family members in Tampa and may have left St. Petersburg. Anyone with information on the two is asked to call 727-893-7780.
