ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A 69-year-old man is behind bars after a woman told deputies she was touched inappropriately by him when she was a little girl.
The woman, who is now 31 years old, told deputies Romeo Desrosiers touched her inappropriately when she was younger. According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened on June 1995, when the victim was about 7 or 8 years old and Desrosiers was 45 years old.
Following investigations, deputies were able to confirm that Desrosiers had access to the victim during that time period at a Pinellas County home.
Desrosiers is a registered sex offender who is monitored by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. The suspected child molester was required to register as a sex offender on May 28, 1997, after he was convicted for a similar lewd and lascivious act on a child.
Desrosiers was charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child under 12 for the June 1995 incident.
