UPDATE | Jerry Hyde has been located safety. He was medically evaluated and reunited with his wife.

A Silver Alert has been issued for an 88-year-old Clearwater man who has Alzheimer's disease.

Jerry Hyde was with his wife in the Feather Sound community to visit a friend. Hyde told his wife he did not want to go inside, so she briefly left him in the passenger seat with the vehicle running while she stepped inside to speak to her friend.

When she returned to check on her husband, Hyde was missing along with their vehicle.

He was reported missing from 13632 Lake Point Dr. in unincorporated Clearwater at about 11:42 a.m. Friday.

He is described as a white male, 5'10" tall and 195 pounds. He has blue eyes, white hair, and was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt with navy blue shorts, white socks and white tennis shoes.

Deputies say he is likely driving a white 2017 Nissan Rogue SUV with Florida tag # 049-MYW.

He suffers from memory issues and has been entered into FCIC/NCIC as a missing endangered adult

Anyone with information on Hyde's whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement immediately.
