A driver pulled from a submerged car Friday in Largo has died, police said.
The driver, whose name hasn’t been released, drove into the lake Friday night in the area of 556 Lake Judy Lee Drive, according to Largo Police Department.
When emergency crews arrived there about 8:30 p.m., the vehicle was completely submerged, police said. The driver was taken to Largo Medical Center in critical condition.
A passenger escaped the vehicle unharmed.
Officers were unsure Friday what caused the car to enter the lake. They say it was heading south on Alt. Keene Road and crossed East Bay Drive before continuing across a field and into the water.
