A preliminary investigation into a fire at Pinebrook Park in Pinellas Park reveals fireworks likely caused the damages Tuesday night.
The city of Pinellas Park tells ABC Action News that it appears the fireworks were improperly disposed when they were put inside a trash can.
The damage is estimated to be $130-$150,000.
One section of a pavilion was destroyed as well as part of the playground equipment.
The playground was just put in a little over a year ago, according to the city.
Lana Beck, with the city's communication department says they plan to rebuild the park -- but don't have a timeframe
We have reached out to the Pinellas Park Police Department and they told us this was unintentionally set so nobody is going to be facing charges.
