PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation.

Officials said on Saturday morning around 4:44 a.m., deputies responded to an emergency call.

When deputies arrived at 1214 Bay Pines Boulevard in Indian Rocks Beach they found Jose Ruana, 35, dead inside the home from a gunshot wound.

Detectives say that the homeowner, Justin Miller, 40, and Ruana had been drinking at a bar earlier in the evening and the two returned to the home after midnight.

Sometime after returning, Miller thought an unknown person was in the home and shot the person in the living room. The person that was shot was Ruana.

Miller was arrested and charged with one count of Manslaughter. He was transported to Pinellas County Jail.
