Pinellas County Criminal Justice Specialist arrested for choking his wife, police say

Largo police officers arrested a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office employee on Tuesday following a domestic dispute.

According to Largo police, 35-year-old Joshua Volz got into a verbal argument with his spouse at their home on Monday night in Largo. The verbal argument turned physical when Volz struck and choked his wife, according to police.

The arrest affidavit said that Volz's wife sustained minor injuries to her face and head.

Volz was arrested by Largo Police officers around 3:24 p.m. on Tuesday. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and charged with one count of domestic battery and one count of domestic battery by strangulation.
 
Volz is employed at the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office as a non-certified, Criminal Justice Specialist, assigned to the Department of Detention and Corrections.

Volz was hired by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office in October of 2006.
