OLDSMAR, Fla. — A Pinellas County non-profit is stepping up to help those 65 and older in Oldsmar.

Oldsmar Cares, a volunteer only non-profit, along with the city are working together for an emergency grocery delivery service.

It is only available to those 65 and older in the city.

"We are in a time where people are unnerved, they're scared, they're worried and when you take at-risk populations, which is generally our older citizens, it's amplified. We want them to know they can still get food and they don't have to unnecessarily expose themselves to a higher risk," says Oldsmar Mayor Eric Seidel.

"You notice a lot of the grocery stores have opened their stores early for seniors and these seniors can't get out and even when they do, they aren't getting the things they need," explains Michelle Baldwin with Oldsmar Cares.

In order to take advantage, those in need will need to call the hotline to request home delivery of groceries.

The number is 813-749-1115. It is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The city also launched a hotline of its own. You can read more about that by clicking here.
