St. Petersburg police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Friday night.
The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Twin Brooks Apartments at 4601 22nd Avenue South shortly after 7 p.m.
According to police, the victim was in a blue SUV in the parking lot of the apartments when he got into an altercation with another man.
The suspect fired shots at the victim causing the SUV to crash into a concrete wall that surrounds the parking lot. The suspect then drove off in the SUV leaving the victim bleeding in the parking lot.
Police found the vehicle a short time later, on fire, near 5th Avenue South and 36th Street.
At this time, police do not have a description of the suspect and the victim’s name has not been released.
