ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A man was killed after crashing into the back of a St. Pete strip mall on Saturday.
St. Pete police said at about 2:16 p.m., a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan drove into the back of the Bealls department store, at 7899 Dr Martin Luther King Street N.
The man was traveling at a high rate of speed. He was the only one in the vehicle and later died at the scene.
It was enough damage that they had to close the store.
No one else was injured inside the store.
Police are still trying to determine the cause of the crash.
