ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — "Live Love St. Pete" isn't just a slick new T-shirt slogan. It is a way to help children and families in need across the Tampa Bay area.
"Our shirts do more than just look good," says Melody Proud, who founded the new charity fashion line. "They do good."
One hundred percent of proceeds from "Live Love St. Pete" go to buying uniforms, school supplies, meals and more for underserved students in the community.
Melody, who owns an ad agency, first had the idea for "Live Love St. Pete" when her church adopted a local school to help.
She wanted to do more.
A lot more.
"I know it sounds cliche, but I've always had a soft spot for children, because they're the ones who can't help themselves," she says.
You can buy the shirts online for $26 right here.
Melody and her "Live Love St. Pete" team will also be selling shirts at a discount price at Fresco's at the entrance of the St. Pete Pier from January 22 to 24.
"We're all here on this Earth together," says Melody. "There's a reason for that: to help each other."
