Largo PD: We will monitor "creepy clown" situation and be vigilant

The Largo Police Department says they have received multiple calls about "creepy clown" sightings near schools in Largo. 

There were reports of clown sightings near a bus stop by Trotter and 134th which was handled by Pinellas County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

Police say there was not a clown in the area of Largo High school after the reports surfaced on social media. 

On Friday, there was a report of a clown standing in the woods behind Largo Middle School. Officers were not able to find anyone in the area after searching the woods and found no evidence to support that there was a clown or anyone for that matter, in the woods. 

Largo Police Department says they will continue to monitor the situation and they will remain vigilant.
