ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A group of food truck owners, a church and local non-profit are on a mission in Pinellas County.

In five weeks, they've served 10,000 meals to those in need because of COVID-19.

The Food Truck Convoy sets out every week day to deliver free meals.

They get together at Radius Church and deliver meals prepared by the Hangar Restaurant.

They're now handing out 850 meals a week. Organizer Dru Rabin says it's crazy to think their organization didn't even exist six weeks ago.

"We've been welcomed into the neighborhoods," Rabin said. "Between the tears and the smiles, it's been amazing to connect with our neighbors."

Meals are handed out following CDC coronavirus guidelines, including the use of face masks, gloves and social distancing.
