FHP is currently looking for the driver involved in a deadly hit and run of a bicyclist in Clearwater on Wednesday morning.
Troopers say a 62-year-old man was riding his bike in the bike lane, westbound on Ulmerton Road, east of 58th Street North when for unknown reasons, a vehicle collided with the bicyclist and left the scene of the crash around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The bicyclist was thrown into the roadway and subsequently struck by a 2011 GMC SUV driven by Michael Alejandrao Flores, 30, of Trinity Florida.
The bicyclist died at the scene of the crash.
FHP troopers located vehicle parts left on the scene by the suspect driver. The side mirror is referenced to a 2003-2008 model Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix or Toyota Corolla.
