St. Pete Police are investigating a two-car crash that ended with one crashing into the front of the American Dialysis Center.

 

 

Police say that a 4-door sedan and a BMW SUV collided around 12:15 p.m. on Monday near the intersection of 4th Street South and Dali Boulevard South in St. Pete. The impact sent the BMW SUV through the front doors of the American Dialysis Center, the driver of the sedan ran away from the scene.

 

 

There was one person injured inside the building at the time of the crash who was taken to the hospital. At this time, the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Employees tell ABC Action News that patients were being treated when a BMW SUV crashed into the building.

Police are asking drivers to avoid the entrance to I-175 in St Pete while they work to clear the scene. 4th Street is also closed from 4th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South.

Action Air 1 is on the way to the scene.
