Clearwater Police say a man was stabbed in his face, left eye and head with a BBQ fork during a robbery attempt on Tuesday.

Clayon Warner, 41, is now charged with aggravated battery and robbery.

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim who was known to the suspect, was walking eastbound in the 11 block of Turner Street around 8 p.m. when Warner pulled up in a car and confronted him.

Police say Warner got out of his car and reportedly pushed the victim against the car.  The victim was able to free himself and run away but Warner caught up with him, armed with a BBQ fork.

That's when another suspect jumped out of Warner's car, police say.   Police say that man began punching and kicking the victim.

The victim was repeatedly stabbed in the hands, head, face and left eye, an arrest report states.

Police say Warner believed the victim had stolen from him.

The attack was captured on surveillance cameras and witnessed by two people, police added.

Police say Warner admitted to the stabbing but claims he was stabbed first.
