PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — The City of Pinellas Park announced Friday that they will defer certain utility fees for furloughed employees.
The city will defer fees such as water, wastewater, storm water and solid waste for Coast Guard members and federal employees until the partial government shutdown is over, according to a press release.
They will also waive all late fees.
"The hard work and commitment of our military and of our federal public service employees is greatly appreciated; therefore, the City of Pinellas Park would like to lessen the impact of the government shutdown for these dedicated public servants," the release said.
