Pinellas County Deputies arrested a Largo man they say admitted to breaking into at least 14 vehicles in Seminole early Saturday morning, after he was caught by two men.
According to deputies, 26-year-old Briar Toner went into several unlocked vehicles and broke the windows of several others.
Surveillance video shows him breaking into several vehicles in a community's parking lot along 113th Street North. He then broke into a few vehicles in a nearby neighborhood.
"I opened the door and looked in and the kid's trying to take the radio," Rick Ayala said.
Ayala caught Toner trying to steal the radio out of his girlfriend's car. Ayala says the family dog woke his girlfriend's mother up, she then saw a flashlight inside of her daughter's car.
"I put my head in (the driver's side), so immediately I have a few choice words for him and he's trying to weasel out the (passenger) side. I chase him through the car and tackle him on the other side," Ayala said.
At that point, Ayala's girlfriend's father came outside to help.
"I put my knee in his back and put my hand behind his neck and he (Ayala) is holding his hands," William Skinner said.
According to arrest documents, when deputies offered to show Toner surveillance video of the burglaries, he said he didn't want to watch it because it "made him feel bad."
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office wont say if Toner is suspected in any other burglaries.
