CLEARWATER, Fla. — A bicyclist was struck and seriously injured on U.S. 19 in Clearwater Thursday morning.
The Clearwater Police Department said the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 between Sunset Point Road and Enterprise Road East at Dimmitt Drive.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue arrived on the scene after receiving a call just before 11 a.m.
At this time, the northbound lanes of U.S. 19 are shut down as the investigation continues.
The bicyclist has been airlifted to a local hospital for his possible life-threatening injuries.
The driver, according to police, is on the scene and cooperating in the investigation.
