PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla — PINELLAS COUNTY, FLA - Agencies are partnering this weekend for DUI Wolf Pack, which is a law enforcement operation in the Tampa Bay area that focuses on stopping impaired drivers.

The operation started at 7 p.m. Saturday and will wrap up at 5 a.m. Sunday.

Sgt. Mark Eastty with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said DUI Wolf Pack targets areas that have problems with DUI crashes.

“Especially on a drinking holiday like this, a lot of people make irresponsible decisions. We want to get them off the road before they cause a tragedy -either to themselves or someone else,” Sgt. Eastty said.

Sgt. Eastty is the supervisor of the DUI unit for the sheriff’s office. He said with ride sharing options available, people do not have any excuses, because it is 100 percent preventable.

The agencies involved with the operation are the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, FHP, Largo Police, St. Petersburg Police, and the Kenneth City Police Department.
