ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg Police made an arrest in a double homicide investigation after two bodies were found in an alley Tuesday morning.

Charles Edward Hixon Jr., 30, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree felony murder.

Police say Dixon has a transient address and was released from prison in April for a 2009 robbery.

Police said they received a call around 7:30 a.m. after someone found a dead man and woman in the alleyway of 14th Ave S and 16th St. S.

A person spotted the bodies near a parked pickup and called the police.

The two were identified as Kenneth Lee Shook, 35, and Cheryl Lee Casey, 58, but no information has been released about how they were killed.
