Three 16-year-olds arrested for stealing motorcycles/scooters after tip from one of their mothers

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Three 16-year-olds were arrested for motorcycle theft in Pasco County partially thanks to one of their mothers.

Deputies were following up on an investigation into a trend of stolen motorcycles and scooters in District 1 and District III.

Security video showed a Honda Grom being stolen from an apartment complex last week. Of the two male suspects on video, one of them was positively identified by his mother.

He later admitted driving another 16-year-old to the apartment to steal the Honda. That teen admitted to being the other person in the security video. Both of these teens were arrested for theft vehicle/motorcycle.

While searching the second teen's residence, deputies found a motorcycle matching the description from the video. A traffic stop was initiated, but the teen driving did not stop.

A pursuit started and lasted just 3/4 of a mile before ending.

The stolen vehicle was found in the teen's garage, and this third teen was arrested for motorcycle theft and fleeing to elude.
