NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place at a lounge in New Port Richey Tuesday.
The shooting occurred at Sullivan's Boulevard Lounge on Grand Boulevard, according to the New Port Richey Police Department.
Police said they went to the lounge after receiving a call about an "unwanted guest" who threatened to use a gun.
Upon arrival, they found the armed man inside the bar.
They said, "circumstances lead to the subject being shot."
The man, who has not been identified, died from his injuries.
Chief Kim Bogart said the two officers involved are on administrative leave, standard policy, pending the investigation.
New Port Richey Police requested the FDLE and SAO conduct the investigation into the shooting and requested the Pasco Sheriff's Office with assistance in processing the scene.
Chief Bogart also mentioned there is no relation to the election.
