A 70-year-old Pasco County woman was killed after being run over by her own vehicle.
On Sunday night, EMS and the fire department responded to Pennsylvania Avenue in New Port Richey in reference to a shortness of breath complaint.
Neighbors and good Samaritans who helped aid the woman at the scene helped police in the investigation.
It was determined the woman failed to place her 2013 Dodge Caravan in park and it began rolling backwards out of her driveway and down the road. She was reportedly knocked to the ground by her vehicle door and was subsequently run over by the unoccupied vehicle.
She was rushed to North Bay Hospital but later died of her injuries.
Police say the incident does not appear to be criminal or suspicious in nature.
