The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged a substitute teacher with child abuse.
Evonne Francis, 59, was teaching in a 5th period class at Paul R Smith Middle School when she verbally scolded the victim because he was explaining that a student she was trying to remove from her class was innocent.
The victim told officials Francis confronted him and called him a “rude little boy” and told him to “shut his mouth and get out of the classroom.”
Francis then hit the victim twice in the back with a yard stick that she was walking around the class room with.
Marks were left on the child and the incident was witnessed by two other students as well, according to officials.
