NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla.- A Pasco County teen and her family tested positive last month for COVID-19.

Jessica Jagoda, 18, shared her story in a video she made for her high school.

River Ridge High School posted her video on YouTube. It has more than 27,000 views.

"Hey guys. It's Jessie. I'm here to let ya all know, my parents and I have the coronavirus," she said in the YouTube video.

"I see all my friends going out in these groups and not following the social distancing things," she added.

Jagoda said she did not have severe symptoms. She was fatigued. Her mother had body aches, a fever and dizziness.

Her father had trouble breathing. An ambulance took him to a hospital last month.

He was hospitalized for four days, isolated and needed oxygen.

"My dad kept getting worse and worse and he couldn't breathe to a point so he said he wanted to go to a hospital," said Jagoda.

Jagoda's family can only speculate how they contracted the virus. The family said they were being cautious.

"We were trying to take precautions like wash your hands, not touching our face, doing all the things like not going out as much and everything and we didn't think we were going to get it," said Jagoda.

All three family members are recovering at home.

"My dad has like really been getting better since he's been out of the hospital. He gets up and does everything on his own. He still is coughing, but otherwise pretty good," she said.
