The Pasco County Court House is honoring parents who are raising children that aren’t their own by celebrating Adoption Day.
Carey Thurman has adopted four children and is in the process of adopting a fifth.
"These kids need what all kids need, they just need a loving home. I can’t image our lives without having them," she said.
On Friday adoption parents were recognized in a ceremony at the Pasco County Courthouse. The celebration was intended to bring awareness to the importance of adoption.
Adoption parents being recognized for the selfless act of adopting sometimes very troubled kids who need loving homes.
Thurman said, "These children have been through trauma and they do sometimes have things going on but at the end of the day they’re just kids. They just want somebody to love them."
