NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Two members of the New Port Richey Police Department are trying to solve the mystery of a photo album found inside a bag of junk outside of a local business.

“There’s just so much history here. So much irreplaceable history," Megan Hayes, a victim advocate with the department said.

Hayes is working with Kendall Tipton, a crime scene technician, to find the family that the album belongs to.

“I cannot believe it was just left there. But there is so much family history," Tipton said.

The pictures in the album date back to the 1950s and the family seems to have roots in New York.

“There’s a whole section of their northeastern trip through Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Gettysburg. All over the place," Tipton said.

Hayes and Tipton have searched online and in obituaries. They found the little girl that lived next to the family but have still had no luck finding out who they are.

So they put the call out online, asking anyone with information to call Property and Evidence at 727-232-8941.

“There’s a lot of love in this book and I really hope we can reconnect them with it," Tipton said.
