Kara Florek believes her mother, Aline Masson, is lucky to be alive. Her mom's house on Snook Circle was destroyed in a house fire on Christmas Eve.
"She was cooking and she's disabled and doesn't move very quickly and it got out of control," said Florek.
She said a neighbor saw Masson in the home a short time before the fire broke out, so that's how they knew to enter the home. Pasco Fire-Rescue said Captain John Benchoff brought Masson to safety.
"God bless you, thank you for working on Christmas Eve," said Florek.
Aline Masson spent Christmas day recovering in the hospital. Two of her pets died in the fire. She did not have insurance on her home.
Her friends established a "GoFundMe" Page to help the family cover expenses. If you would like to donate click here.
