Gov. Rick Scott tours flooded areas in Pasco County

Governor Rick Scott spent Sunday morning meeting with emergency managers in Pasco County. Then, he toured flood prone areas along State Road 54 in New Port Richey.  Scott met with people who've experienced flooding. He also praised those who decided to evacuate.

"We gotta take this seriously this is life threatening," said Scott.

There are currently four ordered evacuations in Pasco County, while six other areas are considered self-evacuation areas.

Ordered Evacuations:

  • Worthington Court Apartments
  • Suncoast Gateway Mobile Home Park
  • Elfers Parkway
  • Blue Heron Mobile Home Park

Deserey Edwears was moving her family out of the Worthington Court Apartment Complex on Sunday afternoon.

"I'm really mad, I'm more upset then I am mad, because I lost my home I can't be in my home with my children I have to stay with family," said Edwards.

County officials those in flood prone areas will be impacted until mid-week.
