Governor Ron DeSantis has issued an executive order suspending Port Richey Mayor Dale Massad, following his arrest.
He was charged with multiple counts of attempted murder after allegedly shooting at a Pasco County SWAT team Thursday morning.

The executive order is effective immediately.
“Dale Glen Massad is clearly unfit to continue serving as Mayor for the City of Port Richey. It is in the best interest of the residents of the City of Port Richey and citizens of the state of Florida that Dale Glen Massad be immediately suspended from public office.”

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
