A former probationary deputy with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office has been arrested and charged with DUI and property damage after reportedly driving under the influence and crashing into a house in Hudson early Sunday morning.

Just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single vehicle crash. The officer immediately made contact with Armstrong, who said he had been drinking before the crash. After failing field sobriety tests, he was arrested at 4:30 a.m.

Jack Armstrong, 23, resigned as a deputy with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office after the incident.

Armstrong was a probationary deputy who began working for Pasco County Sheriff's Office in 2013 in corrections.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
