PASCO COUNTY, Fla. -- A former middle school teacher is accused of possessing child pornography after he took his laptop to Best Buy for repairs.
According to an affidavit from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, 69-year-old William Crawford brought his laptop into Best Buy for repairs. A Best Buy Geek Squad member who was working on the laptop found images "consistent with child pornography," deputies said.
On August of 2019, deputies obtained a search warrant on Crawford, who was formerly a teacher at Dr. John Long Middle School in Wesley Chapel, and seized the suspicious laptop.
Following an investigation, deputies charged Crawford with possession of child pornography.
Deputies said in the affidavit that Crawford admitted to having illegal images on his laptop.
