Deputy hits, kills 62-year-old woman with unmarked patrol car in Pasco County

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — A 62-year-old woman died after she was hit by a deputy's unmarked patrol car in Pasco County Wednesday night.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a call of a crash on U.S. 19 near Johnson Road in Port Richey a little after 9 p.m. The woman was walking across the across the intersection and got hit by the deputy's unmarked Dodge Charger, according to state troopers.

The woman, later identified as Regina Breslin of Port Richey, was pronounced dead on scene, state troopers said.

The driver was identified as 29-year-old deputy with the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. The woman was not in a crosswalk when she crossed the intersection.

The deadly crash remains under investigation.
