Deputies are searching for a man that may have bribed an 11-year-old boy with candy Thursday morning.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, the young boy was walking to his bus stop when a man approached him. The boy was walking near the 6400 block of Mangrove Drive in Wesley Chapel.
"I hope they catch him soon," Kenneth Abercrombie, who lives in the neighborhood, said.
Deputies said the man told the child, "You could have candy if you follow me."
Authorities said the suspicious man was trying to lure the student into the woods. The child did not listen and ran toward his bus stop. The suspicious man took off in a different direction.
"Everybody keeps a kind of like a close eye on everyone another so I'm kind of surprised that someone strange was walking in the neighborhood and no one was suspicious especially 'cause there (are) a couple of parents that stand out at the bus stop with their children," Abercrombie said
Deputies confirm they will have more patrols in the neighborhood Friday.
