The Jolly home is filled with antiques and mementos. It’s a family history that goes back to the 1800s.

But now, Judith and her husband Lawson have lost a lifetime of memories.

“The enormity of the emotion... Fear. I was just devastated to see everything was gone,” said Judith.

Saturday’s burglary included antique, engraved silver that had just been through its yearly polishing.

Thieves took wedding silver Judith still remembers registering for more than 50 years on.

“We have used that at every family celebration... Christmas, birthdays. anniversaries, weddings,” she said.

The Jolly parents are very active in supporting their son David’s political career, including his current run at the United States Senate.

They don’t know if whoever broke in knew the family connection.

“They came in and touched only the file cabinet. They saw the bible and they saw David Jolly. I don’t know if they even knew who that was,” she said.

This community in Dade City is a citizen crime watch area. One of the neighbors captured surveillance video showing a white, four-door car with tinted windows and after market rims. The car can be seen driving around at the time of the burglary.

Inside the Jolly home, the frame is still broken from where someone kicked in the front door.

Thieves also took many precious pieces of jewelry and a gun.

“David’s called two or three times to make sure we are alright. Not only the security of our home, but to make sure emotionally that we are okay,” said Jolly.

The Jollys are normally home, but they were actually out celebrating Judith’s birthday when someone broke in.
