Jelina Morales hopes the man who tried to peep in the window of her New Port Richey apartment is caught very soon.
“He knew that there were females in this house. He came right from over here. He knew exactly what he wanted,” she said.
Morales, two other women, and her 10-year-old daughter were all home early Wednesday morning on the 6300 block of Grady Avenue. Her security camera was rolling too when it happened around 4:30 a.m.
You can see in the video a man walk up on her front porch and go over to the window.
“I was inside watching in the cameras,” she said.
Morales quickly came outside and confronted the man, who she says gave rambling excuses about why he was there. She eventually scared him off. And he took off on a bike.
Now New Port Richey police are looking for the peeping tom, described as a middle-aged man with a Spanish accent.
He’s also suspected of looking into another nearby home on the 6500 block of Van Buren Street around the same time while fondling himself.
“We shouldn’t have to fear every day to have somebody coming up on the porch, even attempting to approach anything that has to do with something that’s not his and to violate my privacy as a female, to look in my window. I feel very violated,” Morales said.
Morales and her friends happened to be loading a moving truck Friday.
They already had plans to leave their apartment complex for a new home.
But the encounter with the man in the video helped convince them it is time to leave now.
