A romantic love sign has been put up on Old Pasco Road, stirring up emotions and questions about the author.
The sign reads, "You are the beat of my heart, the air that I breathe, and the thoughts that cross my mind every day."
The only signature left on the sign is the letter M.
Passing motorists have taken to a community blog to discuss what it says and determine the author.
On the back of the sign there is also a message that reads, "You had my heart since hello."
The question: Who is M?
We found out M is Matt Mattice.
He tells ABC Action News it's a love note for an old flame being rekindled.
Mattice said he recently reconnected with a girl he dated 12 years ago. After going separate ways for more than a decade, he looked her up on Facebook.
Hence the, "you had my heart since hello."
Mattice said he used to post these signs for his then girlfriend and wanted to remind her how much he still cares. The sign was posted over the weekend, so this mystery girl would see it on her way to work.
We're told the woman loved it, but she's a private person who didn't want to be known.
When our ABC Action News crew went by this afternoon, the sign was broken down.
Despite a lot of speculation, Mattice said it wasn't posted because he did something wrong.
"I just want her to know I went out of my way to make her feel special for the day and that I actually care enough and have enough feelings and emotions that I'm not scared to express myself," he said.
Pasco County officials tell us the sign is allowed up as long as it's not on the right-of-way and on private property. In that case, it would only be removed if there were complaints.
It is unclear who broke the sign.
